Are our thoughts sentient?
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:08:25 AM »
Thoughts to me are past language in words we have learned from birth and school. Belief seems to bring them to (life), if we believe them. One may know the understanding (definition) of the word but it has no power until you give it power by believing. In constrast like stepping from one dimension to another (so to speak).

If we can change our minds why not our attitude beliefs personality etc? "I believe I can do this" either you do or you don't and the action will prove it as well. Feedback please. pl

Agreed. But we are human and complex. We believe others even if they believe a delusion. Belief is a action without doubt and purely on faith (without seeing). We are programmed by society to (believe) because of their experience and wisdom (until we question their reasons). You are not by your self I to am with you. Question tho, how and in what manner does one communicate your beliefs to persuade another? pl

Excellent post. pl

pljames: your "anxiety attack" which you mistook for a heart attack, was caused by 'subliminally believed thoughts". Lets try to understand 'how' we do believing.  You say " We are programmed by society to believe...etc'  We are programmed TO and WITH language. Once we learn language, the "tool" of conditioning, we are conditioned to condition our selves. Society just had to make sure we learned language the rest of our conditioning we do to our selves. Every time we 'believe' a thought we are instantly 'conditioned' to react. Society didn't programme you to experience a anxiety attack , you did it, but you learned by learning the language from society, lol. It's like being hypnotized and now you can continue to hypnotize yourself, on and on, you do choose the 'hypnotic thoughts" or rather been hypnotized to keep doing it; it's time to stop that 'process'.

Believing false beliefs

 >:(I like others have been brainwashed beguilled and all related words to that effect. My parents family friends and society has (because of my age as a trusting child) believe(not having their knowledge) every word they say. Therefore programmed conditioned thoughts and the language they use beguile us to believe(falsely). What a  shock!

I now see why when trying to (dissuade change convince or create doubt) is the start to changing their (false belief). You challenge their core belief by creating doubt in their mind (they might be wrong) (without saying their are wrong). pl
