Attention
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:05:09 PM »
Hello everyone,
recently I've been quite interested in the attention topic. I took a speed-reading course once, and there was said that with sufficient attention training, one can intentionally direct his attention on a specific action. My vision about this is that, for example I can keep my attention fully on reading a book, and maintain it throughout the action. Is this true or am I expecting the impossible? I'd like to keep my attention when reading about something boring to me. And also, someone who knows about this subject more, can you guide me, to some kind of exercises for example? I've been searching myself for some material about attentional control and executive attention, and found some pdf files, which I'm going to read anytime soon. Any input is appreciated.

PS. if the thread is in the wrong section, please move it, I felt this was the right one for it.

Devotion of percentage of concentration.
Devotion of time and attention.
Goals and intent.
Time is all we really have.

We do not own the earth. We are borrowing it from our children.

Is that what you really think?

How many ignorant people does it take to destroy a planet?
