six till eight years ago I suffered under a severe mania: Lots of projects in my mind, but nothing really worked out.I just arrived from an scientic institute back home, where my parents do live: Mother - on her way to retire (she did that exactly on my 31. birthday!), and a father suffering under a bad disease of the heart, alooholisms, muscle/nerves-problems and depressive disorder (untreaded). They had no idea wbout what I had done during the last 10till 13 years and were ABSOLUTLY UNABLE to consult her daughter in 1) any sort of personal problems like unhappy love or/and b) professional problems, e.g. where to turn to now in her career etc. they were NAIVE AND INNOCENT regarding that. Me on the other hand, I became severely manic, and ran out of money completly. My mother and father consulted a SOCIAL WORKER on how much money to give her and they GAVE ME 3 Pounds per day(!) equal to a package of tobacco ()
moreover, it came out that I discovered that there were viruses on and on on my computer at home, and so i came out to have HARD PORN on my computer (VIA SPAM MAILS - and allthough I tried to consult a befriended PC-expert, we couldn't get rid of them.) DO OU KNOW THE SONG about the black Million Dollar horse in the slaughterhouse? This is how I felt (and how they treated me):
"LOCKED IN HER CHILDREN'S ROOM FOR TO SLAUGHTER HER DOWN", is what my mother wrote to the government about me during that time !!!
What should you do with her
Give her a job
Let her go abroad (as she wished it with all her heart)
No, just let her do what she wants, without money, in her room, with her computer, whatever she wishes there, THERE, THERE (HEIL!) (I was doing development cooperation with foreigners then) Then, for to make finally some moeny with me and do something useful, let's tell it all around that we got a suicidal daughter whom we helped out, to whom we are nice parents, to whom we gave a new sense in life...! Let her try to commit suicide.... !! (MA AND PA)
This is how it has been and the doctor prescibed HALOPERIDOL as treatment against acute manic phases until 'the concomitantly given first-line drugs such as lithium or valproate are effective'. (they gave valproate indeed after that)
This is my expereince with Mania and this is how it ended.
