Preverbal memories
« on: April 17, 2010, 05:12:30 PM »
Is anyone familier with this?  What is it called?  I'm having a problem researching it without identifying what it is called.  While resting in bed, fully awake and conscious, I was moving my eyes back and forth (like emdr).  My body started to move and act out a scenario that seems to be a preverbal memory.  I can stop these at any time - am fully awake and conscious.  For example, the stomach ached, the back arched, the mouth opened as if in a scream, head started to shake violently, then everything was still.  I interprete this as having a stomach ache, screaming in pain, mother comes by a shakes my head (I have actual memories of seeing her shake a sibling's head.)    Many very severe issues were revealed in this way over a two-week period, leading me to seek some professional help.  Two therapists referred me to psychiatrists, who sent me back to therapy.  Finally found a therapist to work with me.  However, therapist questions the validity of these "episodes."  "Let's work with something you know happened, not what you think might have happened."  How can one resolve severe preverbal abuse issues (if that's what they are), if the episodes are dismissed.  (I've actually heard that is sounds like possession, tapping into cosmic consciousness, reliving someone else's memories.)  I've had long-term issues with anxiety/depression.  These "episodes" were very unsettling and the depression escalated.  Any comments, advise, are very much appreciated!!!

I'm surely not a psychiatrist, but, My advice is that you must look upon life with a balanced view of positivity and negativity. depression only hpapens because of a negative view in life, which makes life bad, as in all the things you see, you see only the negative aspects of it, therefore, your life is negative overall, which causes you to feel bad about your life, and therefore yourself, and getting yourself depressed, and depressed over time, as the more depressed you get, the more negative your view on life becomes.
