What is your empathy quotient?
« on: July 19, 2008, 03:12:34 PM »
i have just found this, a psychometric test to assess your empathy quotient, very useful for those therapists who use a model that has an emphasis on empathy in the therapeutic relationship

Hi Jan, welcome to the forum  :D

That is a good score, with must be a vegetarian to score that high.

I geuss you are from the UK as you use "cousnellor" not "counselor"

There are a couple of other person centered counsellors using this forum.

Look forward to chatting with you.

Thanks for that link Stan :)
I got a 67 which is probably about right for me.  Counselling is something I've always done with friends and family, even though i've not really had any training in it which was one of the reasons I picked counselling as a joint area of study with psychology.

Having started learning about counselling I've probably been more a person centered type of counsellor.  Carl Rogers is certainly a big part of my reading at the moment.
