"The Buck Stops Here"
« on: December 30, 2011, 12:51:54 AM »
There are no free-lance believers; it's all 'do-it-yourself'.  Even though we incorporate thoughts from others; it's we who do the 'believing' of any thought. :)
When you react to a "believed thought-image" as if it were real; you are functioning at the same level as Pavlov's dogs. (conditioned to do so).
Shift to a higher perspective, from where you can see/recognize the image is only a cue, analogous to the sound of a bell was for Pavlov's dogs.
Seriously 'imitating/mimicking' the behavior of dogs is devolution. After eons of evolution, we now 'practice'devolution? To me that's not kosher.
For those who don't understand; shows how well you're conditioned to not recognize conditioning yourself. Understanding/recognition is the first step of emancipation from conditioning.
What is the common denominator ( a principle, if you will) of the "problems" of emotional suffering, dysfunctional behavior, mistakes, stress, burn-out, etc.?
"Believing" some thought-images are real, hence, reacting to those images and experiencing those symptoms/effects. When we believe some thought-images are real, we defy objectivity.
Do you think you can 'win' if you defy objectivity? (Example, "I thought (believed) the gun was empty." The facts win everytime.)
When you come here for help; in effect; you imply, "Help me change my problematic experience I caused by "unwittingly" believing some of my images are real.":)
( If you can falsify what I'm touting, please do so; so I can make corrections and/or apologize.)

If you don't understand what I mean by, " we are conditioned to continue conditioning ourselves". 'Learning' language is the period of our conditioning. 'Using' language is the means of conditioning ourselves to ever new cues.(our own thought-images). Perhaps the analogy of car battery and generator/alternator will help. I'm not sure which one or both, "feed" the battery  from depleting it's charge.
