A common reason for asking for advice
« on: February 02, 2012, 07:50:08 PM »
The petitioner (mistakenly) assumes they exhausted their own inner  resources; and they are right IF they ONLY look to their memory/knowledge/ thought-system/experience; which of course is limited.  Can't everyone think new, original thoughts? We have the capacity to think new thoughts as needed, contingent on the situation, rather than search for previously used thoughts.
"Putting New Wine In Old Bottles"-  It seems the capacity for thinking new thoughts is being ignored; or is it the lack of knowing how?
'Thinking' evolved beyond instinct. We can think new thoughts, but we can't add new instincts, nor do we need too, with the ability to think, as needed, etc. It seems using used thoughts has priority over creating/fabricating new thoughts. Did it go out of style with candle snuffers and buggy whips?
