A dream about getting shot to death.
« on: April 22, 2009, 02:27:27 AM »
Just yesterday night, I had a dream about getting shot to death. I can remember the dream vividly actually:
I was walking down some sort of private stairwell, maybe it wasn't private--just not used as much, and some guy was behind me.  I kept looking over my shoulder to see if he was a "shadey" looking character or if he was gonna do something behind my back. The man following me had a 50's era top hat, and I THINK a trench coat.  When I got out of the stairwell I ended up in the back of a very well lit alley.  I crossed the other side of the alley and climbed a few stairs up to a door, much to my dismay the guy was still behind me, I turn around as I was about to open the door, and he pulls out a silver gun. I go, "No!" but I was not scared of dieing at all, in fact I thought it was somewhat exciting. Then the guy goes to me, give Michael Corleone my regards, and then shoots me many times! I remember as I was dieing in a pool of my own blood, thinking, "omg I cant believe this has happened!" and "I dont work for Michael Corleone! but it would be cool to though...."

i havnt seen or read the godfather in years by the way

what do you make of this dream? does it have any connection to your life at the present?
And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

I had a similar bad dream of being killed by an axe and to be honest I don't believe that is going to happen. Most of my dreams rarely come true and if you are thinking about your life before sleeping this might be a possible reason why you would have got such a dream.

I've heard about eros and tanatos, the drive for life and the drive for death [respectively]. Everything, in our perception, needs an end. So death for us is like the ultimate ending. literally it ends us [at least on earth, not the point]. So it isn't strange to be able to be excited about death, or ending. So I'm wondering if there's anything you have hoped to finish but haven't. Or an aspect of your life you want to get through, and ending it might be exciting because of what it implies?
The best thing about dreams is that we get insight on ourselves, not necessarily the situation, but our reaction to it. So, why would it be cool to work for Michael Corleone? did u say that in the dream or thought about it now?

Message: “Don’t be too scrupulous; it’s worth dying for doing things your own way.” However, this does not mean that you have to commit crimes. The concrete-analogic dream language is prone to overstatement, to exaggeration.

I think that from reading about your dream, you have a deep desire for change, maybe for something exciting to happen. Have you been in a situation where you feel like you've been dragging your feet somewhat? Or surrounded by people or a person that you might feel is attached to a situation that has been going on for sometime?

The picture that this man with the gun in the 50s style clothing is 'behind you' might represent how someone, or a situation, might be holding you back from progressing to 'another place' in life. That he 'shoots' you and you have good thoughts about it, rather than bad ones, might moreover indicate that it really wouldn't hurt to move forward to a place in life where your horizons are broadened, and anything holding you back (including other people) you could be better off without.

Michael Corleone, exciting guy, and you admire him for this character's life that was filled with excitements. The "give M Corleone my regards", could be someone who you have perceived that is resentful towards you right now, maybe even covertly envious.

We all desire change, but it's about making steps to make that happen for yourself.
