Body language related to a persons personality
« on: May 11, 2009, 11:25:26 AM »
I have a friend that whenever she's comfortable talking to someone (usually friends) on a table, she usually likes to lie her head down on the table and then looks and chats at the other person in that position. She sits back to a normal position once in a while but usually goes back to lying her head on the table. She doesn't talk like that to people she just knew or strangers only the people close to her like friends and families. I would like to know what personality traits does she show with this particular body language that she exhibits.

Personality traits are used to classify people by characteristics to be able to make quick or general judgments as to what kind of person that is. Its hard to say from just one aspect of body language: She could just be comfortable with whoever's company, therefore not feel awkward in such a pose.
-at ease from usual stiffness, comfortable, relaxed
-tired, a way to reflect some sort of insecurity or esteem deficiencies

Any other body language?
What about voice tone, volume?
What about the topics she talks about?
Who talks the most or starts topics?
How much eye contact does she give, as in intensity?
And, i gotta ask, why are u curious? =]

PS: These are just suggestions, please don't take anything to heart or personal.
Might be useful to ask someone from u'r own nationality or area. Body language varies a
      lot between cultures.

yes, yes, more info needed! :D
The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.

I definitely think body language could be related to a person's personality as a whole. Example, when I'm around a large group of people my body language is very stiff and tight because I am generally uncomfortable in large crowds of people.

Certain personalities invoke certain body language. Example if a male generally sits open legged and in a relaxed posture, he is generally a relaxed individual, and you can easily tell when he is uncomfortable or nervous or threatened if he crosses his leg or crosses his arms etc.

It's something to watch closely, I usually like watching people and their body movements to try and interpret their emotional states at that particular time. I think I'm going to keep a log with my friends and watch their variations in body language. It'd be an interesting study.

See my shadow changing,
Stretching up and over me.
Soften this old armor.
Hoping I can clear the way
By stepping through my shadow,
Coming out the other side.
Step into the shadow.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me
