Consciousness and Thought
« on: October 30, 2011, 05:27:02 PM »
Are they inseparably concurrent?  Diamonds have facets; are consciousness and thought aspects of a common origin/source?  ( some posit the brain )
We talk about subliminal/unconscious beliefs/thoughts. They are not conscious or not 'in' consciousness.  Can we be conscious 'of' thoughts, that is witness thoughts without being immersed/imbued 'in' them?  Thoughts 'come' into consciousness; can the converse/vice versa occur? Consciousness going 'into' thought?
Witnessing thought, implies consciousness is 'out', at a distant perspective, (spectatoring) observing/witnessing thought.
This topic is not academic; this applies to everyone who thinks and uses language. It's fundamental to your happiness, mental health, well being, empowerment.
On the cusp of a therapeutic paradigm shift?
'Consciousness',can engulf and permeate thought and separate from it;   "amoebic fission"?

A perspective 'outside' of thought. You can't survey a maze from within; hover over it in a helicopter.
When at a higher perspective/understanding; how can beliefs be/cause 'problems'? From there thoughts are under your aegis: you scanction/endorse or dismiss/veto. Thoughts are not autonomous like they are at lower level of conditioning; there 'conditioning rules'.

"Thinker" is a thought.   Does the brain know its thoughts?  Is the brain conscious?

I have ask that question and gotten no response. The mind is conscious and is aware of itself. I yet have not gotten no response to how do the electrical impulses from the brain go from electrical to thoughts? pljames

pljames; You asked "that question and gotten no answer."Did you ask the question introspectively?
"The mind is conscious and aware of itself".   We differentiate 'mind' and 'brain'.
I wrote; "are consciousness and thought aspects of a common origin/source?"  I differentiate  'mind' as personal and 'MIND"  as Universal.
Universal Mind is the source of both consciousness and thought;  do you agree?
