Dreaming Of Eating My Pet Dog! Help!

  Please help if you can. Two days ago, I woke up in a fright, shaking and crying, because I dreamed that I ate my mom's chichuahua. In the dream, I sat at the table and I was calmly eating the dog from a plate, hair and all. Gosh, what the he** is wrong with me? I haven't been at peace since I dreamed that and I can't stop crying. I've looked everywhere to find the meaning, and I can't find it anywhere. Am I monster for dreaming that autrocity? What could it mean? Things have been rough at home because an outsider has caused trouble and broken the family apart. Could that be why I dreamed that autrocity?

You are not responsible for your dreams. You did not eat your moms dog so why feel so bad? It is irrational you are even thinking this way.
Dreams can be many things, what we've seen during the day, metaphors for feelings and many more things, all mixed up together. For example if during the day you was watching TV and there was a dog on screen and someone in the room said to you 'Dinner's ready' then the two can become entwined up in your dream.
This dream gave you a fright and sounds like a nightmare, not uncommon.

From what you say it was your moms dog, (not just any dog - as you write it was your moms) because you wrote it was your moms this means it has significance to you as more than a dog, it is a possession of someone you know.
So what you are eating is something treasured to someone. But it's not 'eating' as in the physical world, it is consuming, possibly removing. As this is someone else's possession there may be an underlying reason for you to either:
1. want to hurt this person
2. remove the problem
You also say someone has come in from outside and broken the family apart. If this is someone who's taken your moms attention away from you, or seems to have priority over you, then that would make sense as you are feeling 1. or 2. which manifest in your dream as you eating your moms dog.

Question:
What sort of relationship do you have with this dog and what sort of relationship do you have with your mum? Like for instance, do you find this small dog annoying/irritating? Do you in any way feel that this dog (for instance) takes your mother's attention away from yourself? Another for instance: Does your mother freely express love and affection for this small lap dog that otherwise has been denied to yourself?

Another question. Outside of the guilt you feel about 'eating the dog', is the dream an enjoyable experience, or just something you are 'doing' without emotion?

I feel this has got some connection to your relationship to you mother - it's something your subconscious is trying to tell you. This stranger that has 'broken your family apart', is that person still connected to your family, and was your mother greatly involved? Another possible 'reason' (if I could say that) is that the small dog represents your unconscious desire to be rid of the trouble that this person has caused.

I don't know the meaning of why you had the dream of eating your mum's dog but I must say it did make my heart skip a beat. Simply because last night I had a bizarre dream of dropping my kids at school and then in the school yard I discovered a large dead dog. I then went to the principal to tell him and when we got back to the spot where the dog was, it was gone but a whole pack of all sorts of dogs were standing around the area.
Very strange, can't get it out of my head - any thoughts to what that might mean!!
