Thinking is about decision and planning.  Males have a short term agenda - quickly inseminating a female- whereas females have a longer time period to consider - raising children.  So, if the context is about male/female relationships women benefit from "thinking/planning". 

But that's only one context.  The "planning" function is going to vary from one individual to the next and seems to correlate with IQ to some extent.  Even sex identity is a continuum.  Everyone can be located somewhere on an andro/gynic scale.  Sex is not a very good predictor of temperament, thinking style.  It's too general.
