Hair fetish

OK.  Here's an interesting subject to actually learn about.

Hair fetishes have many defintions.  We all think differently about what those two words actually mean.

The media's version? We think of something from the x-files with some demonic presence destroying people left and right.  It's popluar subject used in many horror films...

My question to you...when you think of "hair fetish" what comes to mind?

What is real and what is not?

So, let's talk about the subject and find out all the facts...clinitions and non-clinitions alike.  What is it really?

We need to define this so people know a more educated idea of what this actually is.

So...what is it?

Well, to my knowledge, a fetish is an obsessive interest in something. It's quite normal for someone to like another's hair whether it's a hairstyle on a person, the color of their hair or how much hair a man has on their body. So when I think hair fetish, I see someone enjoying the texture of someone's hair by feeling it with their hands. For men, running their fingers through a woman's hair; for women, running their hands across a man's chest hair.

I'm not sure how to answer your other questions but I felt I should at least but my personal definition of "fetish" on here because I think a lot of people are misguided by the connotations alongside the word. A fetish does not have to be sexual or scary or frightening. It can be as simple as loving a tub of ice cream ans taking extreme pleasure in it when you get some.

Yes, your right.  We show fetishes in different ways...one is your definition, inquisitivetrini.  Infact the media goes both ways... seeing something as a normal sexual attractant...even shoes...yet, the media can vastly change it...

Fetish comes in stages and from what I remember, I think there were four.

1. Normal. Would be someone finding the object of hair as gratifying sexual as all the rest.
2. Would be someone who ONLY finds the object gratifying...  Nothing else works except for hair...which can lead to frustration within love making
3. Only the object is gratifying and the partner is not needed...wigs for instance and many times...aquiring the object is more gratifying than actually having it.
4. Aquiring the object with violence...the worst.

Now, I'm sure clinition could better describe these but its 2,3,4 where clinitions usually work with the individual because it causes distress and sometimes abnormal behavior...

But, most are at #1.  The media does a nice job at taking fetishes and throwing them in terribly violent situations creating a scare and an outlandish view when the word fetish is mentioned.

But, most often not, a fetish is just an extension of sexual behavior...an add-on so to speak.
