How I became happy and relaxed
« on: June 21, 2011, 04:10:50 PM »
Hi everyone,

For years I had been looking for the right way to be happy. I came, through working with autism, in contact with the Option Institute in Sheffield, MA. Their philosophy is very empowering in the following way:
- I now feel in control of my emotions, feelings, behaviors. I can no longer feel frustrated about being unhappy, because when I choose to be, that's ok!
- I have been learning tools to become aware of my beliefs that underlie my emotions. When I use these tools I can become more and more happy every challenge I face!

I noticed that there's a comprehensive way of explaining their theory and (yes it sounds a bit bussiness/commercial like) how you can engage in a program to become a self-student at the Option Institute. I would sincerely recommend watching it, allthough it is pretty long, see how far you can get!

Search on Youtube: "happiness is a choice ' workshops to guide" and click on the first (29min) video. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know in this topic. :)
Actually if the 29 mins is too much, search for: "Happiness Option Weekend - Take-Home Tools" and get a 3 minute promotional video, which also gives a good first idea of what I mean. Show me what you got!

Love, Freek

Option Method;  'good stuff". If your not ready to 'jump into' a work shop, read Bruce Di Marsico books, either "The principles and philosophy of The OPTION METHOD". or "Unlock Your Happiness with Five Simple Questions"

Thanks for the comment Sakoz. The book I started with is a cheap one at amazon, it's called Happiness is a Choice, by Barry Neil Kaufman. I can recommend it to anyone! So I take it you read it sakoz? What did you get out of it for yourself?

freekie; I know about Kaufman's book, never read it (yet) :)  I read 3 of Frank Mosca's and Deborah's Workbook. Option Method, brilliant, in my opinion.
see my last 2 threads to 'see' where I'm at. :)
