Lay person's questions for short story topic
« on: May 11, 2009, 01:57:30 AM »
I would like some simple information on behavior psychology as relates to neuroscience and pathology for a short story idea I am about to write.  I don't need detailed information since it's just a short, but would at least like some of the aspects to at least reflect some factual background.  Short-and-sweet answers are just fine, and I thank anyone who can respond.  Please send responses to klynntg@hotmail.com

1. I've found a few links on impression formation but not quite precisely what I was looking for.  Is there any similar parallel (perhaps even with 'first impressions') to that found in some animals in how they impression on their mothers at birth?  What part of the brain is responsible for impression formation?  Are there any pathologies that would limit this capacity?

2. What are some of the more common known viral pathologies that effect the brain and thus behavior?

3. Are there any ongoing projects or studies that I could look-up information about that are involved with re-construction damaged portions of the brain?

Thanks in advance for any information!

Kat
