ORAL PHASE of a Psychotic (Sorry for cross-posting)

What happens in the 'oral phase' ? Is it true that a person with problems can start to beg on the one hand and expect too much on the other ? What's the solution out of this ? When the person became psychotic, - is the reason maybe rooted in early childhood ? Can smoking be the reason ? Is the split from the (psychotic) mother possible ?
