Today I've learned something from the posting of people in this forum, and I'm always glad to learn something new, especially in psychology as I like to learn about behaviour. Today I've learned that science minded people tend to look down on creative people. Why is this? I can only speculate but this is what I observe so far.

There seems to be a lot of arrogance in science, (and thinking about it my old school friend is a science teacher and he's most arrogant too - hehe) do science minded people look down on creative people? they don't seem to value conversation/humour/art but are goverend themselves by hard logic, systems, rules, regulations that doesn't allow them to free themselves for further exploration/deviation/acceptance of difference which can result in new experiences, new solutions, new ideas and so on.
I feel almost sorry for the science minded person who lives their life confined in such a structure.. Angry at anything that doesn't fit with their 'system'...

Creativity & science rarely go well together, said one? actually the sentence was

what sort of arrogance/attitude is that.. haha

Science fiction becomes science FACT... scientist get their ideas from creative people and make them a reality...  Star Wars has inspired many a geek gadget, Star Treck and many other creative arts, of which were invented - written by creative people.. you science people would be lost without creative people, think about the clothes you wear, the opera, the car you drive, the phone you use, the movies you watch & the books you read.. It's about time you started to value creativity and stop being so god damed ARROGANT

NB 'personally I would rather look for fun people who can share a joke, explore topics, chat & laugh and be acceping of difference and who are good company'

I know some sciencey people who are arrogant so that must mean all sciencey people are arrogant.
That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

I'm not suggesting that creative people are useless, just that only creativity only gets people so far, when it should be a mix of both creativity and high intellect.

Only very few fictional things becomes fact, you put it like EVERY fiction becomes fact, get real.

Science is creative. Scientists generally don't look down on creativity or people who engage in creative activities. Some scientists look down on the visual arts or music, but generally no more so than some visual artists and musicians look down on some scientists for being too rigid and logical.

From a very top level view of the population, there might be more anti-art sentiment from science than vice versa, but that's probably more due to the ease with which the use of science is demonstrated (no science, no car), whereas the arts are often more of an acquired - or conditioned, if you prefer - taste.
