We all have psychological difficulties sooner or later in life, however, some of us have more of them, and the problems can be of varying strength, etc.

Now, it makes sense to me, that the best psychologists are the ones that had really severe psychological problems, but managed to overcome them. There's a crucial difference between knowing about a problem from books and lectures in university and from having the problem in some stage of your life and overcoming it.

What do You think about this? If you study psychology or you are already a professional psychologist, did your own psychological problems had a major impact on your decision to pursue this path?
