Trust/Distrust - way around

when someone who adamantly refuses to give you any encouragement or validate anything you are as a person, when you really needed it, someone who was very close. Then one day they start to help after you break down crying, and you tell them all you feel cos they're acting so supportive, then when you cheer up, and they've extracted everything you been bottling up, later go back to their mode of abusing you with the information you told them. You know they've enough content to last the next 2-3 months of controlling and abusing your self-esteem

How do you cope? Instead of beating yourself up about it.

Secondly, how do you manage not to tell this person things, when you say to yourself you wont, but some how in middle of them talking, they end up worming out your plans without you realizing it.

talk to somebody who is impartial, not emotionally/psychologically involved with you. a church, community centre or college counsellor.
