psychologists who belong to a religion that has rules like you mention; what do you think they will say?
psychologists  who don't subscribe to any religion and are practicing cohabitation, what do you think they will say?

how would we be able to find out what the majority of psychologists think about "no sex before marriage"?

are you just wanting to find out what the consensus view on this subject or do you have some other idea that you are trying to flesh out.

i wonder if you might be more successful raising some other ideas or asking your question in a more specific way.

I'm interested in knowing what the majority of psychologists think of this rule, or how they would defend or oppose it using academic psychology. My hypothesis is that most psychologists would not accept it, and that they would only oppose betrayal in a relationship. Most psychologists seem somewhat pro-sexual compared to some philosophical, cultural, or religious groups. So I'm guessing that psychologists might actually encourage sex before marriage. Am I right?

how could you find out what the majority of psychologists think? you would have to poll a significant number of psychologists inorder to determine the the thoughts of the majority.

as far your supposition goes i think you would be right. marriage is a social construct which is promoted by certain ideological mindset. "psychologists" (a difficult bunch to pin down to any specific philosophical or ideological culture) would be more likely to view sex as a natural human desire that needs fulfilling in the same way as eating or taking a piss.
