What is the psychological 'change agent' in or out of therapy?
« on: December 18, 2011, 12:28:20 AM »
We cannot create change on demand. Serendipity is not a acceptable answer. People want to 'change'. Is there a secular version of 'born again' phenomenon?
I'm 'casting a wide net' with this question; self-help books promise change, how effective are they? I'm looking for the "mechanics or anatomy" of change. Do it your self.
Is it practical to look for such a solution? Are religions on the right track? Believing is a major factor to be sure. Change occurs in therapy and other contexts without appealling to religion.
Insight is "Change Without Stress".  Why do therapists invariably ask clients to relive there pain as if to say,"OK I see your in pain." as if they didn't believe the client till they see the pain themselves.?
--- SHIFITING  PERSPECTIVE  BY  CHOICE --- Looks like a innocuous title, but if you can do it, will be a momentous occasion and ability to behold.
