Why as we grown up, we become more unhappy?
« on: October 13, 2011, 02:53:35 PM »
Through the observation of my own photos, I found that as I grown up, I became more and more unhappy than I was in childhood.

Do you have the same finding and why that  happened?

You get better at it with practice. And you think up more false thoughts to react to; of course you don't recognize doing so, otherwise you would only believe better 'quality' of thoughts.

@OP:

What age range are we talking about here? Generally, it is not natural to become unhappy simply because you're getting older. Certain things that happen in your life as you age may play a role in your general unhappiness, but just because you're, say 40, shouldn't mean you're naturally any less happy than you were when you were 10.

If you find that you are continually getting more and more unhappy with no outside influences (i.e., marital problems, money problems, etc.) then you may have depression.

As your brain physically ages, if there becomes a problem with the production of natural serotonin, a key player in your mood, this can cause depression. Which IS a treatable disorder with the use of SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor) drugs.

Good luck.

As we become older? We have more responsibility. This can lead to unhappiness if we don't feel our actions are fulfilling. If we desire something different. The whole modern culture encourages us to want more. We desire change. This in of it self can lead to unhappiness. We see all these celebrities and famous people with their fake lives that look so attractive and that is not us. As our awareness increases we have more things to worry about. As children we have very basic needs. Most of our needs are taken care of by adults. At about 7-8 I started realizing more about the bigger picture. This is when the bi polar started kicking in. I started being depressed. It is all part of matureing.
Time is all we really have.

We do not own the earth. We are borrowing it from our children.

Is that what you really think?

How many ignorant people does it take to destroy a planet?
