Women's pubic hair

Hello.

I would like to say that I am dismayed by how widespread the practice of the shaving of pubic hair in females has become. I would like to split this post up into a few questions:

1. Why do you think the shaving of pubic hair has become so widespread? I think that porn actresses were the first to shave their pubic hair, perhaps for the sake of hygeine, or perhaps for another reason, and this has filtered down to the general public.

2. Following from the first question: if you are a woman, and you shave your pubic hair, I would like to ask: why? Is it because you are pressured to do so by your partner or husband, or is it that you want to conform to the cultural norm? I used to think (hope) that the practice was just a fashion that would eventually go away, but I fear that this will be the norm for the forseeable future.

3. Why (on earth) do (most?) men prefer shaven women? I have a theory: when I was a teenager, and discovered the world of the pornograhic magazine for the first time, gazing upon the pages with such awe and reverence, it was the mid-80's, and all the women looked beautiful, with beautiful, natural muffs. Males who are now between the ages of 15 and 30-35 were/are teenagers who, when looking at pornograhic magazines, see only women who are shaven. Perhaps it's because I was a teenager in the 1980's that I prefer natural women. Unfortunately, I cannot know for sure whether this is the reason.

What puzzles me the most is that, surely, men should be more attracted to natural women, seeing as the development of pubic hair is a characteristic of maturation, along with the development of breasts, and development of the hips. It's well-known that the higher the hip-to-waist ratio of a woman, the more attractive a male is likely to find the woman, so why is it not the same for pubic hair? A woman with no pubic hair looks like a child, and to me that's just not right.

Women: please stop shaving your muffs.

A friend of mine became a beautician many years ago and was surprised when asian women said 'take it all off' she said because asian men don't like their women to have body hair. It was a long time ago and I remember thinking it was like, liking children, but whatever it's caught on and is the norm and not like, liking children at all now.
There's no money to be made in the 'natural' look and eveyone wants to make money from razors, hair removing creams or waxing or treatments, men do it too you know.

Stucoy... You have said everything that I (a woman) has felt for several years now. I find bald repulsive. I am a universal lover and cannot find appeal with the "bare" look. This issue is shared in both genders. I have almost accepted that women are most likely bald, but when I first discovered shaved testicles, I was rather upset! From my small corner in the world, I strongly and loudly encourage a well tamed "beard". Taking a beard trimmer to it is perfectly acceptable, but not bald. BALD IS BAD!

Seems to indicate that people respond to images that have been presented to them and these dictate how they respond.

Stucoy, I consider the hair on ones body where ever how ever as the instinctual aspect of ones being. When shaved it means to me that ones disconnects from  instincts ~ which in  turns means  powerlessness, such as a child or infant.

How come females shave under their arms and males do not??? How bout that one?

I attribute the shaving ordeal as in entirely shaved bare in connection to power over. It also separates the sexes, creates an exaggeration  of the differences rather than seeing into the similarities.

But the fact remains that as a female I have to shave under arms for job. I am not so diligent about it . Not at all. So  trimming is a better idea.  This is for management/public comfort.

But if a person is into physical stuff then shaving can be a real pain. During the days of being a marathon runner meant that if I shaved  underarms  they would chafe and bleed. SO... there is a reason for hair. Now, how many women have complained about chafing ... iching post sex because they were bald? Hmmmm can not count on one hand and I have heard all about it.

All in all I think harsher things are done in the name of aesthetic concerns. I want to know why women are willing and looking forward to paying in order  to walk around on stilts. But then I know there are those that would wonder why I chose to twist my ankles/knees in order to sit in lotus. Sooo

I hope this won't offend the mods, as it's spoken in a very serious relation to topic.

Personally it's bad to get hair in my mouth when licking vagina, it just feels like a major turn off.

Maybe I'm on a mass hysteric roll, but to me it seems soo much more inviting with a shaven and hygenic area, than a full bush.

A neatly-trimmed "landing strip"  strikes a reasonable and most delectable compromise between the Earth Mother tropical jungle look at one extreme, and the pre-gynaecology examination close shave on the other. 

If I were ever fortunate enough to land a gig as a stern-faced Miss Nude Anywhere judge, and I were hypothetically confronted with 3 women each flaunting toned yet curvaceous physiques of the sort that induce light dizziness in observers, my vote would always go to the beauty with the close-cropped landing strip, over either the untamed bush mode, or the totally bald look sported by the other two contenders.

I'm a guy, and personally, I don't care.
It's the woman's choice whether to keep hair on her body or not; not mine. A woman shouldn't have to shave because she feels like she "has" to (in order to attract a mate) - it has to be done on her own accord.. or have a practical reason, like the whole chaffing thing.

Bottom line, if I think she's hot, and I'm dating her, then no pimple, or bush or mole or whatever will suddenly make her repulsive to me, resulting in her being dumped. It's just silly.
