Hi, I'm not sure what my diagnosis is. I went to a p doc who says ptsd, but I think I may be bi polar. She says not because I did not experience euphoria. I do have periods where I get frustrated and even angry because people can be so slow and I know I can do it better. At least I'd like to try. I also have a personality disorder, but I'm not sure what kind. The p doc said that, but said it's not her field of expertise. Actually she said "I don't handle those. What ever is wrong is keeping me from maintaining a job so voc rehab sent me there. I can't change docs and I can't seem to get a straight answer from her. I see her again in January. How do I get satisfactory answers from her?

Are you looking for real answers or just "satisfactory answers" from her? From the sounds of it, you are not accepting her theories or concepts because you feel like you can diagnose yourself better than she can. The overused label of Bi-polar is not accurate to the true personality disorder. What is portrayed in the media is not Bi-polar.

Im not sure what you are asking from the forum. Are you asking what are some possible personality disorders you may have? Or how to deal with a Psychologist that you do not see eye to eye with? Either way, I would like to get more information about your situation.

I'm looking for advice on how to get information out of her. She has all her paperwork in order and perhaps doesn't realize she neglected to tell me what's in it? How can I accept her theories if I don't know what they are?
