Anxiety disorder
« on: November 03, 2008, 02:19:15 AM »
I have it pretty bad. At first I thought it was just the way everyone was, and I worried a little more.  But looking back at it now... I worried obsessively, over absolutely everything.  It made me sick to the point I was in the hospital because it messed with my heart. It messed up my breathing, and gave me panic attacks almost every night.

So this goes out to anyone who thinks they might have anxiety disorder -  please get help. No one deserves to live their life in the constant fear anxiety disorder makes you feel. Counseling really does help.  They even put me on medication for it.  I still have the anxiety, but not nearly as bad as it was before.

anxiety disorder is a strange thing. i believe that a lot of the problem for people with anxiety disorder can be traced back to almost unconscious thought processes. these are fear based thoughts that lead to excessive worry. considering that you have overcome your anxiety do you have any thoughts about this?  i would also like to ask for the benefit of other people, what things things where the most help, and how did those things helpn you?
And the  LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as  one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

What can you do before it becomes too much?

I worry a lot. I know it's not a normal level of worrying, because I tend to worry and obsess over little things and have been told by several close people that it's too much and that I should relax. This advice also annoys me an proves that they actually have no idea how bad it feels, because I can't just pull the switch and start thinking pink.
I really try not to obsess, but I can't help it. Too often these things seem too big and I can't help myself thinking and worrying over them.
