Citalopram
« on: June 02, 2008, 03:32:07 PM »
I used to be a member on here before and when looking at the comments from over a year ago took the advise to go and see my GP. I wrote down a list of things that were affecting my life, no motivation etc. She then prescribed me 20mg CITALOPRAM and was quite excited. I started taking it on 28th of May. The feelings i get are abit euphoric espically when i yawn, it feels like a rush of pleasure but not in a sexual way i think. Hope i'm not freaking you out (hehe)

Does anyone else get a real pleaure taking it?
Any tips on when to take it?

Hi, I am taking this medication right now.  I would suggest Lexapro if you can afford it or if you have an insurance that will co-pay it.  I was on lexapro for a few months, it was hard to pay for.  The doctor recommended the switch to Citalopram as it has generic form and is similar to Lexapro.

My doctor recommended me take 20 mg of the Cit each day, but here is what happened.!  My pharmacist gave me 40 mg with instruction to cut in half.  I did not REALIZE the instruction.  So, for a couple of weeks I was on 40mg a day and had to call doctor and tell him of my mistake.   UM.   Doc said if I was doing alright on that dose, then we'd keep it that way.

I like the medication! :)  But I prefer the Lexapro.  Good luck.
imagine that.

I have been taking Citalopram. However, my dose from the beginning only has been 40 mg and will tell you, it has worked for me considerably. My doctor told me that i have the allowance to take it in between 20-60 mg, but he advised weekly monitoring as a compulsion, as SSRI requires that....

Citalopram is an antidepressant drug used to treat depression associated with mood disorders. It is also used on occasion in the treatment of body dysmorphic disorder and anxiety.
