I have a sister-in-law who suffers from bipolar disorder, dang she scares me sometimes. How can I cope with her craziness? I love her to death but I am always afraid I will say something to set her off.

People who have Bipolar are not ill all the time. with medication they resume very normal lives. so if you worry about saying something to upset your sister-in-law, as long as she`s not ill at that time you should just treat her as normal. Winston Churchill was Bipolar, and so was the first man on the moon.  My husband of 39 years is Bipolar, but with medication he enjoys a normal working life.  In fact we forget he has got this illness until he shows signs of becoming ill again.  They are not continually bizarre!
