Going back to childhood, and dealing with trama.
« on: August 22, 2011, 07:20:48 AM »
I have a problem. I'll be 24 in a few months and I have been wanting to go back to childhood. My life was great until the age of 10 or 11. You'll need to know this....
Anyways, I've heard of people that have been raped wanting to do so, (go back to childhood) but I have not been raped. However, I feel that I've been through a lot in my life. Honestly, I've been hospitalized once, for a week, because of hallucinations etc. I wasnt put in a straight-jacket or in solitary confinement or anything like that. It was a psych ward at a hospital. I find it embarrassing, but I want to go to toysrus and buying toys. I may even want to get cars and play with them. How bad do I sound? Should I tell my psychologist this embarrassing thing about me? Will she put me back in a psych ward or worse? I bought legos recently, and I may even consider buying baby dolls or barbies. Is that bad?
I almost dropped out of middle school and almost failed a grade then. My dad physically abused my mom once, while i was in middle school, and I saw the knot on her body. It may not have been what you would consider a really bad physical abuse. But, he also slammed doors all the time, pulled phones out of the wall, wouldnt give my mom any money besides her minimum wage job.

Tell me what you think. I need some guidance. Thanks.

Also, I even coo and make goo goo ga ga sounds from time to time. this may be when i get really scared.

A straight answer to your question is not that easy without assessing you in a proper way. Could you consider meeting a therapist, at least online? You might get answers to your questions from a skilled therapist. All the best!
