Help, kinesthetic sense
« on: September 14, 2010, 07:04:16 AM »
In my psych 110 class we were learning about the kinesthetic sense, and how it allows us to know where all parts of our body are at all times. Even when not looking at them, or using them.  Now sometimes I can't tell where my hands and feet are unless I'm looking at them or moving them. This only happens when I'm not looking at them or moving them. This is a completely different feeling than the limbs being asleep. And if I look at the hand, and or foot, or move the hand or foot, everything feels normal. This mostly happens when laying in bed at night, or being still in a classroom setting.
Is something wrong with my kinesthetic sense? Does anybody have an idea of what might be going wrong?

People after an accident are asked to, for example, wiggle their toes and they cant do it. But theyre not looking at them and they think that they are wiggling their toes.

Some people just have a more visually based sense, i just asked my friend, he feels weird moving his feet while not looking at them. As long as nothing is hurting you or harming you in any way, it is not a problem
