Please feel free to talk about your depression, and let members here encourage you or help you with solutions to problems.

But, the boards are NOT an appropriate place for discussions or threats to commit suicide, hurt others, or to hurt yourself.

There are even suicide hot lines created just for the purpose for individuals that feel depressed and might be considering such extreme actions. So these hot lines are a great option to call as well. One should make sure that they are serious when calling such a thing, the people on the other end are often busy and need to focus on those in need.

Please don mind me saying this, but the best place, as far as i think, for discussing it is these communities and board...you know why...Cos there are innumerable members out here, who might have faced similar problems, which are leading the individual to commit suicide. They might have been successful in finding the solution too...By discussing it on such boards, an individual might find a solution to avoid the thought of commiting suicide, instead of depressing others...As i am sure most of us want to help others in their life, if possible for us...

It is extremely difficult to lose a loved one to suicide. Suicide survivors should be treated with the highest level of respect and sensitivity 100 percent of the time. And people should not need to be told that basic fact.

Suicide is the easy way out for a person. Throughout their life they had not had discipline and had not had the entire suicide = bad idea reinforced into their head. To them it is just the solution to their problems. They really need help though, not just to stop them from doing it, but to fix their way of life and thinking.

you have got an important point..sometimes, people who are suicidal feel more comfortable talking to strangers on forums,through telephone, etc. rather than doctors or family members....the important thing is to help then get through the "tough" period

do not understand this...sensitive people ccommitting suicide or the people who are like rock?......it is the cowardly way out for some people!... it takes courage to commit suicide for some people!....it is a very desperate who decides to takes his life(in certain cases!)...

fyi, lots of people go through depression at one point or another in their lives...it is how that depression is dealt with that makes the difference...judge not, and ye will not be judged;condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned.cheers

That seems a bit harsh. If death is imminent, we would euthanize our beloved pets. Is it cowardly to euthanize ourselves?

i just came across a forum yesterday. this girl was commenting on how she wants to take her life after knowing what really caused MJ 's death(the investigation is going on). some of the posters told her to call 911 immediately and reported her to admin(askign admin to check her IP address) and contact her. I do not know if she was really feeling that way but, that is how it seemed based on her repeated posts. She seemed very upset. So, in a way, it is a good thing that she posted in the forum.

yes, yes, would it not be wonderful if someone who is feeling suicidal decides to send you his/her worldly possessions of king cobras and scorpions? i can imagine you having a wonderful time waking up in the morning and seeing a king cobra all curled in a striking pose and ready to say "good morning,voodoo. what voodoo thing shall we do today?" to you.

btw, it so happens that i did laugh when i read your post.
