Is the such a thing as justified anger?
« on: January 11, 2012, 08:42:19 PM »
 >:(I understand anger is a emotion. Emotions are caused by either external or internal /stimuli circumstances. And for the most part we allow them but do not analyse the reason outside of our emotions. Is anger justified when a love one stubbornly refuse to do what the doctor tells her? It's her pride. pljamesone@att.net >:(

I can speak to this on several levels.
1. Anger can be used constructivly or destructivly. It can motivate change.
2. Our body is ours. Even if we love someone? We should allow them the choice as to what they think is the correct course of action. I have a terminal illness. It will eventually kill me. Or it will weaken me enough that something else kills me. I have been dealing with it since 1993. Next year will be 20 years I have been fighting this. I went to my doctor last week and was told I am no longer in remission. That the Leukemia has started to take over my immune system again. I am supposed to discuss options next week.
4. I know it is difficult to allow someone you love to refuse treatment. My family are in the same boat. They want me to do exactly what the doctor says. I researched my condition and did what I thought was right. This time I will do the same. Or I may refuse treatment. I haven't decided. I got really sick last time and I am not sure I want to go thru that again. We all die eventually. To be able to have some control is something not everyone gets.
5. I would think at least part of your anger stems from not being able to do something personally to fix the problem? We have an inherent need to protect those we love. When this desire is thwarted it is natural to be angry.
6. Whatever the reason the only way I can see to possibly change her mind would be to research the situation and present the information to her. This may not work, but at least you will feel you are doing something. If you become confrontational it may make her even more determined to not seek treatment. Above all make sure she knows how much you love her.

Good luck and I know it hurts. I lost my wife 6 years ago. It still hurts.

I understand. If I could have traded places with my wife I would have in an instant. But seriously I wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. It is slowly eating me alive. I get some better then worse again. I regain my weight and some physical ability. Then it goes away again when I relapse. However on the other hand. It gives me time to read and watch educational shows on the discovery, history and national geographic channels. Or review information on the internet. To pray and read the word. Plus when I can't eat fasting is easy. LOL!
Yeah! This life is getting harder and harder. Even knowing what is the right thing to do and how to react to other people is getting more difficult. All the uncertainty is another thing all together. 2012? Is it the end or a new beginning? Is it all just a big hoax? Or is mankind about to endure the most terrible time the earth has ever seen? Will nuclear, biological, chemical and star wars weapons be used in a war to destroy all creation. Only God knows. I know this. This life is just a blink of an eye compared to eternity. The word says.
Whoever loves his life will lose it. Whoever hates his life will keep it for eternity. This world really is a bad dream and I actually can't wait to wake up to a better place. Seriously. We work our butts off with very little idea of what we are doing and no matter how successful we are we end up dieing and lose it all anyway. There has to be something a lot better than this. It is just how do we get there? I am not going to do anything to speed up the process, but when the end comes I definetly won't be sad about it.

When we see God we say. I am a sinner who deserves to die. But I claim the blood of Jesus Christ and by His stripes I am healed. It is right to fear God. The word says that we should fear God, but we should have faith in Christ who died in our place. Grace is a free gift. All we have to do is claim it and we are saved and we are changed. Not perfect, but we can now see what God planned all along from the beginning of time. The only thing we can give God in return for all God has done for us is worship, praise and obedience. We show this by doing what He and His son told us. Love thy neighbor is a command. We have to "try" and follow Jesus example. In return we recieve mercy and eternal life. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I am glad for you. Praise God!

I think I understand psychology.

My friends I think I understand psychology (my way). Why do people think what they think. I also have seen and understand my mind. The (i) (ego) and (id) are also in the mind. Each one is a universe of (itself). Take these three words and look up Http://www.Visual Thesuraurus.com and add these three words to it. When you call them up seperately you well understand how the mind works (to me anyway). Thoughts please. pljames
