Questions

Ok, weird 1st post but got a question:

Is it normal to have disturbing thoughts 24/7?

E.g.

Riding in a car and having random thoughts of cars taking off my arms if their hanging out the window etc?

Visualizing violence like people being mutilated etc?

it is not generally common to have these thoughts 24/7 but these these kind of thoughts are common.

you may also find that a common experience is people who have disturbing thoughts use some kind of attempt to control their thoughts which often leads to an increase of the unwanted thoughts.

as an exercise try not to think about a blue polar bear.
now spend 10 minutes or so trying not to think about a blue polar bear.

most people who carry out that exercise will think about a blue polar bear more times in that 10 minutes than they have ever thought about a blue polar bear.

The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.
