Religious fears
« on: December 16, 2011, 01:12:00 AM »
There are concerns that wearing clothes isn't just wearing clothes. Concerns such as, the fact that those clothes may be spiritual clothing and may or may not affect what will happen to a person who wears them. What should be done about this?

Do you know of anyone who believes that clothing is like this?

Things like the armor of God, which is in the bible is probably one of the things that has sparked this concern.

Our outer image is how people judge us or react to us. I have known a number of people who would never go out in public with out dressing a certain way. They were concerned that people seeing them would judge them by their appearance. This was especially true with upper level managers and anyone in authority. I dress for comfort most of the time and don't really care what people think. I am still me no matter what I am wearing.

Another belief by certain cultures is that certain cloths or items have magical powers. The sorcerers hat or the dunce cap were thought to lift the aura to a higher plane so they would have a higher level of thought. Because of the cone shape. Shamans have special items that are called talismans. Or certain religions have icons. All these are believed to have supernatural power.

Now as far as the Armor of God goes? Ephesians 6:10-18. That is meant as a metaphor. It means being prepared to do what God has called you to do. Sometimes this is taken out of context. As with many religions people tend to cut and fit. They except certain parts and ignore the parts that they don't like. Or they interpret the writings the way it suits them. As far as what the Armor of God is? I will leave that up to you to decide for yourself. Peace

Time is all we really have.

We do not own the earth. We are borrowing it from our children.

Is that what you really think?

How many ignorant people does it take to destroy a planet?

This worry might be taken care of right now. Just by fighting through the thoughts.
