What if a person is challenged by a word feeling or action that could induce anger to radical behavior because they believed they are right? The only escape was the radical behavior to get help and be listened to? Would'nt anyone who is challenged mentally argue (because of belief or pride) they couldn't be  wrong? pljames

what do you mean by self induced mental illness?
The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.

so your original post asks

how does someone make themselves emotinally distressed? family history, believing a lie, stress or something else?

what do you think would induce emotional distress in yourself?

Allowing outside stimuli overcome me and I get out of control emotionally. It happened to me. I thank God for the experience now I understand if it happens again I will handle that situation differently with more control. pl

Trying to understand where that emotion came from and why? I am convinced that everything is relative to every thing else one way or another. pl

Stress, sorrow, mass hysteric stupidity ..etc.

I'm confused about the topic as it seems very selfexplanatory and shouldn't need any further explenation.

If the person has common sense common logic and thinks rational one would think they might be able to self diagnose there problem. But if they allower outside or inside stimuli to make them doubt what they think the problem is they fall prey to it by doubt. pljames
