Thoughts in the head telling what to do?
« on: November 07, 2010, 11:52:18 PM »
Hi everyone.
I've noticed one of my new classmates looking to sides, when talking, like looks for a second and turns his eyes back. It looked like it's not natural. Then I've observed his behaviour, when not talking, just sitting and doing something, I noticed the same thing. Then by thinking, that it's some physical sickness, out of curioucity I came to him and asked - "what is wrong with your eyes?" He said, that nothing. Then we talked, I asked why and what and how, and finally he opened up:
He's told me, that he's thinking (not hearing voices, but thinking, which sounds very unusual to me) about things, like... Something will happen bad, something real, he gave me some examples, but I'm unable to remember at the moment... So anyway, he said, that he thinks, that something bad will happen in the future, if he won't look at some object and says in mind "no, i don't want to" or something like that.
Also, he's told me later, that he sometimes thinks, that if he does one thing instead of another (he gave me an example in the computer game, as he plays it and he knows, that he needs to build one building, but because of that, he builds another), something bad will happen.

Anyway, this sounded strange to me, as usually people are hearing voices or something. It might be related to believes, something like magical stuff or something, I think. Could someone explain his behaviour to me? Like why is he doing so, what he might have, etc...

you might find "eye accessing cues" an interesting topic to do a little research on
The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.

Well, he looks at things, not to a particular side, I think. So as far, as I know, it's not very related.

Also, some of the information about the eye accessing cues can be very, VERY questionable, or how should I say. I mean, that particular sides means particular things, but the same side can be used for multiple things.

I've lived my whole life with, it seems like, someone else's thoughts in my mind. I've understood after a while that it is my unconscious talking to me, more specifically, my super-ego. She tells me what to do, what not to do, scolds me, corrects me and mostly just sounds like a running commentary.

Some of the things you have described sounds like my obsessive compulsive disorder tendencies. The need to look at something or touch something is something I have dealt with in earlier years. If I didn't, it would be like a splinter in my mind, urging me to.

I don't know how hearing those thoughts and OCD are connected but I've met quite a few people who have both.

Yes, I agree with you

My guess would be that he doesn't have a good sense of trust with the world. He feels he has to keep looking and trying to control the situation by telling himself "no" to this and that. So he is trying to control the situation, trying to make sure bad things don't happen, since perhaps in the past they have? Or it may be not just that bad things happened, but perhaps he didn't feel in control (or both). It may also be that in the past bad things happened, and he perhaps feels a lot of self responsibility. Maybe he sees how things that went bad in his life, he could have prevented. That could lead to him obsessing over everything, trying to make sure nothing gets by him. He probably doesn't have a good sense of trust in himself. If he did, he probably would feel like he would be able to handle bad situations if they were to arise, and wouldn't be so obsessed with trying to prevent them from happening.

So yah, that would be my guess. Everyone is different though so he may have a different reason for being the way he is. Likely though he has some things he has to work through. Perhaps those tendencies will go away naturally when whatever caused them ceases to be an issue.

He is starting to figure the world out.  By processing all of the items he looks at in the shortest amount of time possible he is able to avoid a strike.  If what he is doing is only a recent occurrence then he most likely only has a handful.  depending on the amount of time this has been going on he'll be better able to understand the time restrictions given to him he will have to reach certain numbers by pre-designated dates to keep from hitting a chain, but if he has just recently started noticing outlines then he has a ways to go.  He'll have to figure out the rule of 6 and 16 as well as find his neutral point so he'll be able to even things out the best he can.  he's not even close to 64 so he'll be able to hold out for a while.  If he can manage to balance out all of this then he should be able to stall on the addition of more outlines.  some strong words of advice "do not be to welcoming, be cautious of the rules created, if you are to direct everything will get worse.
