Weird feeling
« on: December 05, 2010, 02:29:21 PM »
Hi!
My name is Melina and I am 26 years old. The reason why I decided to join this forum is because I need your advice. It all started a few days ago when someone I know told me something that came as a huge shock. I felt pretty weird and awkward. Ever since, I am experiencing nausea and dizziness. I also need to go to the bathroom all the time. Is this a normal reaction?

P. S. Please forgive my language mistakes since I am not a native English speaker...

How long do the episodes of nausea and dizziness last?

Not long... Just some minutes, whenever I think about it and feel upset.

That's good. Without making a diagnosis over the Internet, this seems like anxiety attacks.

Do you have someone you can talk to openly and confidently about the issue, such as a close friend or family member? If so, that would be the best cure. If not, a cognitive-behavioral therapist can have you fixed up in a matter of weeks on light therapy. You might be offered an antidepressant prescription, but I would insist on counseling therapy if the attacks are not causing you major disruptions.

Thank you very much for your advice... I really appreciate it! I'll talk to my best friend and see if that helps. (it's a good thing he has studied psychology!)
Thank you once again
