I wasn't sure where to post this question.  I have read that alexithymia is when an individual is unable to identify emotions in themselves or others but this seems similar to attachment disorder (adults and children).  Now, I understand that alexithymia can develop secondary from not being taught appropriate emotional responses from a caregiver but how is this different from RAD?  Any responses are welcome.

Thanks,
L

the answer to your question is in your question

relational attachment disorder is a recognised disorder which consists of symptoms and can be classifed by DSM criteria. people with the disorder are unable to form relational attachments to others.

alexithymia is a personality trait. it is the inability to identify and commmunicate emotion
The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.
