world mental health day Oct 10th 2008

on october the 10th it is world mental health day.

i am starting this thread hopefully to find out what is going on around the internationally for world mental health day.

i am involved with service user six-a-side football team in wigan, we meet every week to practice and once a month we play in the mental health league, we have enough members to play two teams, an A team and a B team, and we have done pretty well in the past.

on the 10 of october we have organised a full on eleven-a-side match with a team from blackpool we are going to play the match in a premier league clubs (Wigan Athletic) stadium on the fullsize pitch.


any body else doing anything or know of any events for the world mental health day?

Stan, thanks for posting this!  I haven't heard any news on wmhd here.  I posted the question in my school's psyc club and have yet to receive a response.

it does not seem to be very well promoted. i dont remember hearing of wmhd until i cam into this year when i came into this area of work. i was told about wmhd a few months ago when we where trying to arrange our football game. if not for being involved in the football match, then i would not have heard anything until last week when i recieved some emails from wmhd with details of our football match and some other awareness events which are happening in the stadium where we are playing football.
