I'm an extreme introvert and its detriments are plaguing my life. I think a lot and deeply before writing, it wastes a ton of time. I also think more before I speak, it doesn't look attractive like I want it to look. I perform poorly on tests because I dwell upon them deeply, and it takes a lot of time to finish them. I wouldn't become an extrovert because it has detriments too. However, I am curious, is it possible to switch between introversion and extroversion through certain meditative techniques?

The higher extroversion is, the higher the reward sensitivity of an individual. Extroverts could probably be able to focus on their emotions and reach a state of introversion while introverts could probably be able to focus on certain circumstances and try to feel the reward, to increase reward sensitivity and perhaps reach a state of extroversion. If either of them get this kind of training, is it possible for them to switch between their two states?

In my opinion, and this is only my opinion, everything that you wrote in your OP in this thread just screamed to me, "this is an extroverted person!"  Oh, and this should have probably have been posted in the Personality section of the forums and not Neuroscience.

Oh, I see. I've never heard of the word "belies" and I looked it up, so I thought it meant "misrepresents". It's certainly possible that my inhibition system is so strong that it outshines my extroversion by a long shot. I guess a bunch of stuff makes sense if that's true, like my powerful motivation to beat my friends in video games when I was a child, and now my powerful motivation for self-improvement. I always switched goals quite quickly, because there wasn't any immediate reward left, and I got bored. This makes sense a lot more.

This was indeed posted in the wrong section. Thanks for your response.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't be more helpful than that.

One common side effect of reading my posts is the incessant need to have a dictionary nearby.  In fact, I would strongly advise that you consult a doctor if I use a word that even the dictionary doesn't list.  There's a slight chance that your head might explode otherwise.  :)

Peace
