“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.” - Albert Einstein

The so-called miraculous powers of a great master are a natural accompaniment to his exact understanding of subtle laws that operate in the inner cosmos of consciousness.

I agree with his statement that the idea of free will being an illusion is itself an illusion. However, I can never relinquish the way Harris bounces back and forth between morality as a mental state and the overarching morality he appeals to that apparently drives his ideas. If his own personal system of metaphysics is influenced by his scientific endeavors, that's one thing. But the way he presents his views can sometimes be downright dogmatic.
