where do magno and parvo pathways continue to?
« on: July 20, 2011, 10:39:32 AM »
so i recently found out about parvo and magno pathways and i got interested about where do these two pathways lead to. i know that magno pathway takes dorsal route and parvo takes ventral route. but what about after this? do they just completely mix their information or just partially share some information and continue to different parts of the brains?

i couldnt find any information about this from the book that i got(cognitive psychology bu eysenck & keane) or anywhere from internet. or is it just that people dont really know where they continue after this?

the reason im interested about this is because im interested about jungian cognitive functions and magno pathway seems to correspond to what jung described intuition function(telling you 'where did something come from and where is it going'(<- this processing done unconsciously), thus forming a big picture perception that comes into consciousness) and parvo to what he described as sensation function(telling you 'what is', detailed perception). but out of all physiological research done to these functions, none of them talks about magno and parvo pathways and they place these functions to be quite far from v1-v5 areas  ???

That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
