Acne Tips
« on: May 31, 2008, 12:40:43 PM »
Hi. Just thought I'd share what has helped me. I have tried everything from honey, toothpaste, asprin, etc. I broke open a piece of my Aloe Vera Plant and put that on these 2 horrible pimples I had that would NOT go away. I covered them with a bandaid and left overnight. They had reduced quite a bit by morning. I've also tried the tea tree oil and that seems to work as well. Just some ideas. They may not work for everyone though but it's worth a shot. Good luck!

Good tips :) Yep, I have tried tea tree in the past and I find that it is pretty good. I don't have acne, well I do break out sometimes at unusual times, I also want to try T-Zone- anyone tried it?

Agree with both of you....tea tree oil do work...

Recon, heard of the term T-zone...But not as an ointment for acne...As a portion of the face...

Can you help me in knowing it better :) ....Probably it might come in handy for me....

You must kept clean the affected area. Any good quality oil free face wash would do. Do not scrub over-enthusiastically. It may aggravate the situation. Antimicrobial creams   ( containing Azelaic acid, erythromycin, benzoyl peroxaide,  or clindamycin cream) is the first line of medicine. Other topical creams such as retinoic acid, benzoyl peroxaide help in changing the pattern of desquamation of the skin. Blackheads will be reduced. If you are a lady, synthetic estrogen cream or  oral contraceptive pills may be used. Use of synthetic retinoids are helpful in resistant cases, but must not be used by pregnant women as there is chance in fetal development.

* Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

* Make a paste of neem leaves with turmeric powder. Apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water. This is a good cure of acne.

* Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball, leave for half an hour and wash. Repeat for 15-20 days.

* Rub the acne with garlic cloves several times a day. Pimples will disappear without a mark with regular applications.

* Grind nutmeg (Jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on acne for 1-2 hours. This works as a magic. Pimples should disappear without leaving a mark.

* Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. At least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables should be included in your diet. All acne home remedies should include a healthy diet.

Toothpaste works for me.. I agree with you mytvtalk, every person has some kind of different reaction in acne treatment. I mean i got a friend who doesnt wash often but his face looks clean.
