Derren Brown and Manipulation
« on: August 20, 2009, 03:26:18 PM »
Hey. I've been following Derren Brown's build-up to "The Events" from his blog (www.derrenbrownart.com/blog), and I'm wondering how interesting his work is to psychologists. Is it all just farce, or do we have somethign to learn from him about how our minds work? It seems like if he can pull of a jewellery robbery on live TV (seems like that's the plan) then there are implications for how much we really know, and are aware of, what's going on around us. But I remember my psychology teacher at school laughing him off. So, what do you think? Can you really perform a jewellery heist and get away with it, on live TV, just be manipulating our thougth processes?

Either way I am a little bit excited!
