some of them are so funny.

that one about the exploding pillows reminds me of my jack russel that did all the pillow humping.

Stan:  hahaha!  Well, the thought gave me a laugh so I will not take back my accusation of your pillow-humping activities.  It provides me with great fun.  :P

Dude!  Dinosaur.  No, she's a cartoon character.  Disguised as an Australian Shepherd.  She's pretty sharp.  Great sense of humor.  Single-minded.  Like a bull in a china shop when it comes to food or attention or envy.  A great friend, hella sweet.  Has more nicknames than anyone I've ever met 'cuz she's got more personality than 10 humans.  FTW (for the win)!

i was just looking for pictures of a border collies and australian shepherds as i have never heard of an australian shepeherd until now, so i was comparing to see if they are the same dog but with different names.

anyway i came across the most bizare creature, (even more bizare than your dinosuar corwin :P).

i am not convinced this is a real creature, i think some one has done some clever editing with photoshop and turned a common household mop in to this animal.

i think the australian shepherd and the border collie are very similar. the difference seems to be in the colouring. the shepard has less black and more brown and silver colours. the border collie is used in this country as a sheep dog for herding because they repsond so well to training.

although we are not ready for a dog in our house yet, we have said that when we have children and a bit more time at home we would get a dog and the border collie would be my first choice.

having seen the australian sheperd i am interested in finding out if they are bred her in the UK just because the colouring is more unusual.

although i also like the merle border collie in the last picture below. again, i was not aware of this colouring until i today.

the australian shepherd

the border collie

They are similar in a bunch of ways. There's 'tri's', because they're 3 colors, and merles- dappled or 'merled' like the one you pictured. Mine is a tri. the biggest difference is, Aussies have no tails! Alas, only a nub. They're also not even Australian- they were bred in the US!
