Fight Club + Calvin and Hobbes

In the film Fight Club, the real name of the protagonist (Ed Norton’s character) is never revealed. Many believe the reason behind this anonymity is to give "Jack" more of an everyman quality. Do not be deceived. "Jack" is really Calvin from the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. It’s true. Norton portrays the grown-up version of Calvin, while Brad Pitt plays his imaginary pal, Hobbes, reincarnated as Tyler Durden.

Interesting observation. I was just thinking about this sort of thing. How many authors take a work that has already been done and replace certain aspects of the story and make a new work. Many Science Fiction works follow the same basic pattern as old westerns. Other works take Shakesphere and bring it into a different setting like West Side Story. Or Death of a Salesmen. I usually write my own story lines without concious thought to what others have written. But when I went back and read Logical Man a futureistic novel I wrote I realized I had actually used similar ideas as other authors. Cool Thanks

Edward Norton is Tyler Durden, he created Brad Pitt (lol good choice) to be the way he wanted to be but didn't have the guts to be that way himself.
Amazing movie! One of my faves! Excellent of you to post this! I'll go watch it for the 20th time now.
