Halloween Music

Not totally a board game, but stolen from another board... well, a couple.  :)

Huge fan of Halloween.  Also a huge fan of Halloween music.  Anything you guys might turn me onto?  Either by way of theme or "vibe", don't care what type of music it is, as you'll likely see below.  Here's a short list of mine... help a brother out?

Screamin' Jay Hawkins- basically anything. I Put a Spell on You, Feast of the Mau Mau, I Hear Voices, Little Demon...

Black Sabbath of course

Curtis Mayfield - If There's Hell Below, Right on For the Darkness

Alice Cooper - Didn't We Meet, Go to Hell, Welcome to My Nightmare

ARS - Spooky

Chris Poland - Demons

AC/DC - Hell's Bells/COD

Cowboy Junkies - Me 'n the Devil Blues

Concrete Blonde - Ghost of a Texas Ladie's Man

Dr John - Gris Gris, Mama Roux, Croker Courtubillion, In the Ce****ry, Zu Zu Man, Season of the Witch, Walk on Guilded Splinters, Bruha Bembe... voodoo music FTW.

Edgar Winter - Frankenstein

Elton John - Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding

Bessie Smith - Haunted House Blues

Gentle Giant - Spooky Boogie

Morphine - Do Not Go Quietly Unto Your Grave, Miles Davis Funeral, So Many Ways, The Night...

Leon Redbone - Witch Queen of New Orleans

OZZY (AKA the Pillsbury Oz Boy) - Zombie Stomp

Stones - Sympathy for the Devil

Siouxie and the Banshees - Halloween

Specials - Ghost Town

Thin Lizzy - Spirit Slips Away

Tom Waits - Hang on St. Christopher, Potter's Field, Temptation, Whistlin' Past the Graveyard

War - Slippin' Into Darkness

my initial thought was the specials - ghost town. i love that song any time of year. you already have that on your list.

the only other thing i can think of being spooky by vibe is "the war of the worlds" album the original one. perhaps the emmphasis on aliens might spoil that one.

So appreciate the help.  There's also some great Misfits songs that work.  Cramps tunes.

On an unrelated note, where's the other posters been this week?  What the heck?

ive not done mine yet, maybe tomorrow as i have no work tomorrow. my first ever effort was not so good. there is bit of a nack to carving them. when i was young we never had pumpkins because they where too expensive, and nobody liked the taste of the fruit. mum used to get me a turnip and my grandad would carve it. they were very odd looking lanterns.

i think i have some pics of last years pumpkin on my puter. i'll have look when i am back on my pc.

Where did you find the pumpkin patterns?

LOL it's called Wizards in Winter by Trans-Sierian Orchestra.  You didn't listen to it?  It's purely instrumental, but done really well.  I love it.  It's not the average Christmas type of music, though.

I'm carving my pumpkin today!  How did yours turn out?  Pics?

I didn't get to carve them because Rick wanted to.   >:(  meanie.  lol  Ah well, he did a good job for his first time!

Here's one that was carved all the way through.

And this one was done only partially through - we like this one better.

And here they are on our front porch.

LOL Well I like it!  I told you it wasn't the average Christmas song.  Actually, some people do their Christmas lights to them.

We did some gigs with their guitar player.  Skol is a good egg.  Dude was in Testament, of all bands!  Great player.  He is doing heavy metal classics in a jazz trio format after having a dream about it.  Records are awesome.  Yay for TSO.

cecile your pumpkins are awesome.

i got to say i am the perhaps the most anti christmas person i know apart from my girlfriend.
i really dont get it especially christmas lights.

however that  was an aweinspiring display. i cannot imagine how that was orchestrated. i would be much more tolerant of christmas lights if there was that much attention to detail and organisation went into all displays.

That is awesome!  How neat, you guys got to play with him.  I'd love to hear more of their music.  I'm usually not into heavy metal stuff, but sometimes I find some that are freaking awesome.

Aww thank you Stan!  It took Rick forever -- he used a dremel and a template.

As much as I love the lights display I posted, I cannot imagine being the neighbors and trying to get some sleep!  LOL
