Pert's Pics
« on: December 15, 2011, 03:38:53 PM »
I have some very important news that I just have to share with everyone.  No, I'm not a new father or anything lame like that.  Today, I acquired a vintage bottle of Mexican Coca-Cola.  What's so special about Mexican Coca-Cola you might ask.  Watch and learn:
http://thecinemasnob.com/2010/10/21/brad-tries-new-coke.aspx

Oh, and here's the pic:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/10/2358269//IMG_0454.jpg
Isn't it gorgeous?  And the albums are, clockwise, from top left: Obscured By Clouds, Animals, Atom Heart Mother, The Best of the Doors, Ummagumma, and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.  DSotM, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall were stolen during one of the parties I had at the house this past summer.  What a bummer.  :(

Stole your albums? I hate it when that happens. I went on a date and fell asleep with the chic at my house. When I woke up she had ripped off most of my record collection. Plus a lot of other stuff. I went by her place and her room mate said she moved to Colorado. I have several old bottles of old Coke, but the one of new Coke was one of the things she took. I hate it when I look for something and it is gone. On one hand it is just stuff, but on the other people just taking it isn't right. Where is my stick and my bowl? Oh yeah I also need my loin cloth.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that The Piper at the Gates of Dawn was stolen too.  I think I know who did it, but whatever...  The chick stole your bottle of Coke!?  She should have been a keeper...you know, if she hadn't been a kleptomaniac.  Excellent post Earl.  Though remember, you can become attached to a stick, bowl and loin cloth, as much as anything else.  It isn't about relinquishing material things, but rather your mindset.  One must cultivate the outlook known as Vairagya in order to transcend samsara.  And be most aware that I think reincarnation, as traditionally understood, is nonsense, as I see it being more akin to the Conservation of Energy theory of physics.

Today on Pert's Pics we have a very special guest:  my dictionary.

Check out that luxurious cover.  And the cover font is simply immaculate.  The coloring is reminiscent of a Stephen King novel.  I'll admit it, and I don't even read fiction!

You know you have a good one when it has this word in it:

In this episode of pics I am going to be showcasing part of my Pink Floyd collection.  Enjoy.

http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/927de48710ff204eca1f980826e98deecef98e28175e6daaedf15f26062736e86g.jpg

On the far left is my Pink Floyd The Wall tablature book.  (Tab is cheating, I know this now.)  On the far right is my Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here tablature book.  (Tab is cheating, I know this now.)  And in the center, from left to right, is my Pink Floyd Zippo lighter (rumor has it that Bob Geldof lit one of his cigarettes with this lighter in the Wall movie), my Pink Floyd shot glass (if ceramic could talk...), and my Pink Floyd key chain.

Cool I mean hot. LOL! Nice touch with the album cover it fits well. Yeah I am sure those are pretty hot. You could dry some of them if you aren't going to use them all now. It is pretty simple. Just place it on a glass or ceramic plate. Put it in a dry place, maybe near a heat vent and turn them over each day. Check for mold often. If it starts you have several choices.
1. Cut off the molded part and continue drying.
2. follow 1 and wipe the peppers with vinagar or food grade alcohol.
3. microwave at a low tempeture until dry
4. Cut off moldy part and cook in a pan and add to a dish.

Dried peppers should always be cooked thoroughly.

I don't intend for the main focus of Pert's Pics to be foods, but I gotta do what I gotta do.  So today I decided that I'm ready to move up from habanero peppers.  I bought myself a $2.49 bottle of Naga Jolokia hot sauce.  The real deal.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhut_Jolokia_chili_pepper

On the bottle it says (and I'm not making this up):
Quote
This sauce will haunt your dreams with fevered nightmares of apocolyptic (sic.) horsemen dragging your soul to the burning pits of hell.  Made from the world's hottest pepper: the Naga Jolokia Ghost Pepper, never meant to cross human lips.

Turn back now while there's still time...and don't forget...you were warned.

500,000 Scoville Units

[Sorry for the blurry pic.  I'm no photographer.  Go f&*# yourself then!  Passive aggressive motherf....]

Sitting beside it is a bottle of $.75 Inca Kola.

So if you set off the smoke alarm when you take a dump? I guess you will know why?
Preperation-H also would be a good idea. Seriously.

Waaaay ahead of you!  ;)  I still have a tube of Prep. H left from the time a (so-called) friend dared me to drink an entire bottle of Tobasco.  Surprisingly, that was more of a psychological battle than a test of constitution.  The thought of what I was drinking grossed me out much more than the taste.  The heat was minimal...on the way in.

Sadly it was neither of those things.  It was everyone's favorite instigator of mischief:  alcohol.  And yes, it was the whole bottle.  We poured it into a cup first.

Alright, I'm out of here for the day.  See ya.

Peace

Today is a special day, holy even.  Because today, I get to try a Scotch Bonnet hot sauce.  You may be thinking to yourself: "who fucking cares?"  Well, I care, because it's my ass on the hot seat.  That's why I care!  It's hard to make out on the image, because I suck as a photographer, but at the bottom of the bottle is a figure of a man spouting flames from his mouth.  That is a mild indicator that what I'm about to eat might be a tiny bit spicy.  We'll see.
