POEM: Exempt

Exempt -

I don't want your money
And I don't want your fun
Shining down with judgment,
Saying my day is done.
I can't take your interests
Further than I can throw;
I don't want to know.

I won't pray for blessing.
I won't beg for pride.
Ask me what the world needs-
Love demystified.
But you're just another fucking mirror
Reflecting all you see,
Smugly nestled in your spoon-fed answers.
I'll find my own for me.

You can take your trendy fashions,
Take your phone disease,
And put them on a pedestal
While your soul falls to its knees.
You look around this earthly perdition
Liking what you see;
You can covet vacant progress,
But don't expect it from me.

I am beyond your reach.
I am tomorrow's throne.
Take your star-eyed martyrs
And keep them to your own.
Yours is all the blessings.
Yours is all the pride.
I can only wander,
But I am vast, immune inside.
