Raja Yoga

The pinnacle of Raja Yoga is Samyama. With the concentration of awareness (Dharana) and the attenuation of thought (Dhyana), there is then not a single thing that the Ego can grasp on to, and thus it eventually "dissolves," creating a state in which there can be no identification with any thing and therefore no distinction or difference. A loss of dualistic perception (Samadhi).

To quote a very astute student:
"We do not believe in any supernatural explanations, but insist that this source (of energy) may be reached by the following out of definite rules, the degree of success depending upon the capacity of the seeker, and not upon the favor of any Divine Being.  We assert that the critical phenomenon which determines success is an occurrence in the brain characterized essentially by the uniting of subject and object."
