Should I still adopt the baby? I'm very confused about this.

I'm really not sure what to do right now so I'm turning for advice, I really need help with this.

My partner Andy and I have been trying for a baby for the past 4 years unsuccessfully (doctors have told me there is barely any chance for me to conceive because of my PCOS). So a few months ago we decided to adopt a baby and have gotten married earlier this week so we can adopt. We have already picked a baby girl to adopt but haven't yet made our request official with the orphanage.

But now Andy seems to think I might be pregnant. I don't know how accurate his suspicions are because my period is often irregular and all the symptoms can be explained by a dozen other things. I have been on many vitamins and supplements, iron, evening primrose oil etc etc and doing pilates, eating more healthily and keeping my stress down for the past few months to get my body more healthy. But I don't know if there's a chance for me to be pregnant or carry a baby to full term.

Should we still adopt the baby? Money isn't a problem for us, we can easily support several children, but is this the right thing to do? I'm confused.

pregnancy test springs to mind. dont know about Dubai but in the uk you can get 3 pregnancy tests for £2.

Yeah, that does spring to mind. Having a 153 IQ I should have thought of that! LOL

Actually, with the evening primrose oil and some other hormones I'm taking, the test will nearly always show up positive! So that option is out. I'm going to get an ultrasound done, if it isn't too early.

But if I am pregnant, I don't know if I'll be able to carry the baby to full term or if I'll miscarry. And should I still adopt another one now?

Sort out this pregnancy business first.  There'll be plenty of small brown children to choose from if you're not.

I've known many couples to conceive after being told it was impossible, some after adopting. I hope you are pregnant but fear you may get your hopes up and then be disappointed. But I have my fingers crossed, I'm sure you'd make a lovely parent and the more you can give your love and support to the better, so I would say go ahead with the adoption and hopefully you'll be pregnant too. Having two similar in age is wonderful. But don't listen to other people, listen to your instincts and it will be right.

I had my ultrasound today, turns out I'm about 10-12 weeks pregnant! The doctor was shocked and said it is a minor miracle!

One thing I will have to do is take a break from my psychologist duties, because my husband says they stress me out (he is right, they do). So I will also have to be very careful about a lot of things now, if it took so long for me to get pregnant, we don't even know how fragile this pregnancy can be.
